Client training
Over the last ten years IYM has worked with over thirty front line providers to devise tenancy-training session. Throughout this time it has always been committed to making them free and available for people to use.
In January 2010 IYM published a completely new set of resources developed with our partners across the country.
The 30 new workshops have been redesigned to reflect the five outcomes which Supporting People believe supported accommodation schemes should be working to achieve in all clients.
Running one of the 30 workshops can now be can submitted to Supporting People as evidence of working proactively with clients. The workshops help clients:
Health eating, dealing with alcohol/drugs, safe sex and accessing health care effectively
Identifying the right education, training and employment for you, preparing for job interviews, writing CV's and noticing problems with basic skills
Day to day budgetting, dealing with debt, accessing safer credit and setting up bank accounts
Accessing voluntary placements, service user involvement, getting the most out of support workers and valuing diversity
